The twelve face-to-face training seminars contemplated in this series (40 participants per seminar x 12 seminars = 480 participants), to be implemented in various EU cities over the period 2024-2027, will be complemented by six video podcasts, 25-30 mins each, related to the core topics, which can also be used as stand-alone product. Moreover, twelve audio podcasts of max 10-20 mins each will be produced and made available for a wider audience. In MP3 format, audio podcasts can be enjoyed on-the-go on portable devices (mobile learning or m-learning).
Each seminar will illustrate specific contexts (rather than general contexts) identified as:
- Videoconferencing (how to use it, do’s and don’ts, how to deal with vulnerable victims)
- Artificial intelligence (facial recognition, deep fakes, Chat GPT, procedural safeguards)
- The e-Evidence Digital Exchange System (how does it work in practice, case studies)
- Tools and information available on the website of the EJN in criminal matters (demos)
- Criminals’ new modus operandi (impact of Covid on criminal activities)
Digital tech as tool to commit crimes
Online investigation methods: cyber patrolling, cyber investigations
Effective use of Internet open source intelligence, data protection issue and defence rights
Digital forensics
Tackling the illegal trade on the darkweb

Participants
The cross-professional approach is a key feature of the series. Judges, prosecutors, court staff and lawyers in private practice will be brought together in the same training (40 participants per seminar x 12 seminars = 480 in total). The “train together” experienced can only be an added value to all legal practitioners. By targeting judges, prosecutors and lawyers in private practice, the Project aims at promoting training sessions where mutual understanding, networking and confrontation can only be beneficial to all professions administering criminal justice.
